MONMOUTH AM Nick Ramsay has asked the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s Chief Executive to explain why Chepstow patients have to wait so long before receiving results of X-rays.
Mr Ramsay contacted Chief Executive Judith Paget after receiving a complaint from a Chepstow constituent who had injured his ankle in a cycling accident.
“My constituent went to see his GP who sent him for an X-ray at Chepstow hospital on September 3rd. He couldn’t believe it when he was told he would have to wait four weeks for the result of the X-ray to be made available.
“This surely is excessive, particularly when a patient has suffered a break or fracture that may need intervention.
“I find it hard to believe that patients attending other X-ray departments, such as Nevill Hall, would have to wait so long before receiving their results.
“I look forward to receiving an explanation for this painful delay.”
