Two Monmouthshire Restaurants have hit the press again this week, following news that both The Whitebrook and Abergavenny’s The Gaff have been named in the Good Food Guide 2020.
The Whitebrook, owned by chef Chris Harrod, who won BBC2's Great British Menu 2018 rose eleven places in this year’s guide to number 38, whilst The Gaff was amongst five new Welsh entries.
Commenting on the news, Nick Ramsay said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to see Monmouthshire’s restaurants once again receiving such high praise. I’ve long said that Monmouthshire is Wales’ food capital and this latest news celebrates this.
“I’m also delighted for Dan Saunders and Danielle Phillips who have done an exceptional job with The Gaff. I look forward to the restaurant continuing to flourish in the future.
“Of course, the news will be bittersweet for the Whitebrook, following the sad news of Henry Ashby’s recent passing, as his foraging skills helped put The Whitebrook on the map.”
