Local Assembly Member Nick Ramsay was pleased to receive news that two projects in his Monmouth constituency were awarded £20,000 in March after successfully applying to The National Lottery Community Fund.
Monmouthshire Housing Association Limited will use their £10,000 grant to facilitate the expansion of their highly successful “Dads Can” project, a male support service using a coaching and mentoring approach to empower fathers and father figures to identify and overcome challenges they face.
Llanbadoc Community Council were awarded £10,000 and will make it easier for the community to access the park and common land next to the Usk, and therefore enjoy more recreational and social activities.
Speaking after the announcement of the awards Nick said: “I would like to congratulate Monmouthshire Housing Association and Llanbadoc Community Council on their success. I’m sure the awards will help make a huge difference in their community. Well done to all involved. I hope other organisations within Monmouthshire will be encouraged to apply for a National Lottery Community Fund Award seeing the success of other local groups.”
