Monmouth Assembly Member Nick Ramsay is again to contact the Police and Crime Commissioner Jeff Cuthbert to press for a public meeting following a recent spate of crime in Abergavenny.
Mr Ramsay wrote to Mr Cuthbert in January to express constituents’ concerns that the town was being failed by a lack of policing.
“I raised the issue after a family owned tobacconist was broken into three times in the space of two weeks, prompting the owner to complain about a lack of police presence in the town,” said Mr Ramsay.
“Since then there have been many more burglaries in Abergavenny. Local residents are extremely angry that the issue is not being addressed and fear that the town in becoming lawless
“I will write again to Mr Cuthbert stressing the need for a public meeting as a matter of urgency.”
