Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay is again pressing the Welsh Government to carry out urgently needed road safety improvements on the A466 link road at Chepstow, which claimed the lives of three people between 2013 and 2016.
Mr Ramsay has written to the Welsh Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Ken Skates, AM, after being contacted recently by a constituent whose husband was tragically killed on the link road.
Commenting on the issue, Mr Ramsay said: “My constituent has long been campaigning for safety measures to be implemented on the link road and thinks it is high time these were carried out.
“In July 2017, Mr Skates informed me that funding had been provided to look at the design development of several of the recommended improvement options but progress seems to be very slow and local residents are understandably extremely frustrated by the delay.
“I look forward to a positive update from Mr Skates so that this dangerous road can be made safer in the near future. “
