AM to raise policing concerns with Chief Commissioner

Monmouth Assembly Member Nick Ramsay is to contact Police Commissioner Jeff Cuthbert following a local shopkeeper’s claim that Abergavenny is being failed by a lack of policing.

During December, a family owned tobacconist in the busy White Horse Lane area was broken into three times in the space of two weeks prompting owner Tony Cox to complain about a lack of police presence in the town.

Expressing his concern, Mr Ramsay said: “When the owner of a 100 year old business is threatening to shut up shop, clearly this is a matter which needs to be addressed.

“I will be raising the issue with Mr Cuthbert and look forward to hearing his response.”
