Local Assembly Member Nick Ramsay recently tabled a question to the Welsh Government’s Minister for Economy and Transport, Ken Skates AM, asking for an update on progress assessing speed and road safety on the A40 junction with Groesonen Road outside Raglan.
Nick has just received a reply advising that “the speed limit review is due to commence shortly at this site, and the findings will be known by the end of the year. The review will consider all personal injury collision data and the view of stakeholders to make recommendations for engineering improvements, as well as changes to speed limits and enforcement.”
Speaking about the response, Nick said: “I’m grateful for the update, but hope we don’t see any further accidents at this site in the coming months. We need action urgently to improve safety at this dangerous junction. A decision on the most appropriate safety measures should not be delayed any longer as lives may depend on it.”
