MONMOUTH Assembly Member, Nick Ramsay, had a busy time with local scouts last week having spent last Thursday evening with Cub Scouts at Raglan and also attended the Monmouthshire Scout District’s St George’s Day parade and service in Monmouth on Sunday afternoon.
Nick was a guest of Raglan Cub Scouts at their meeting last week when he helped with their project on politics and the Welsh Assembly as part of the “Welsh Award” the children aged between 8 and 11 are working on.
Nick also enjoyed attending the annual St George’s Day parade and service giving thanks to St George, the Patron Saint of Scouting, which was held this year at St Mary’s Priory Church, Monmouth.
Speaking after the service Nick said: “I was pleased to see some familiar faces in the packed church. It’s great to see so many young people involved in the local scouts’ movement.
“The children are clearly very enthusiastic and gain valuable skills and friendships from their membership of local scouts groups. Well done to all those who give their valuable time to keep our scouting movement alive and so popular with youngsters in Monmouthshire.”
