AM Supports Armed Forces at Fly the Flag Day

Local Assembly member for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay was pleased to be able to attend a "Fly the Flag for our Armed Forces" event, hosted by Monmouthshire County Council and held at the council’s headquarters at Usk, this morning.

Representatives of Monmouthshire County Council, including the Chairperson County Councillor Sheila Woodhouse, addressed the gathering, with prayers from the Chairman’s Chaplain, Rev Canon Mark Soady. The ceremony was followed by refreshments in the Chairman’s Room.

Speaking after the event, Mr Ramsay said: “I was delighted to witness the raising of the commemorative Armed Forces Day flag and to take part in this tribute to all those who serve or have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.

“They risk their lives on a daily basis to make this country more secure and we owe them an enormous debt of gratitude.”
