Local Assembly Member for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay, was pleased to attend the “topping out” ceremony held in Abergavenny last Saturday morning to celebrate the completion of the public realm works commissioned by Monmouthshire Council in Frogmore Street.
Chairman of Monmouthshire County Council, Sheila Woodhouse, was joined by town and county councillors in a procession from the Town Hall to Frogmore Street where there were speeches thanking the contractors, Alan Griffiths, county council officers involved in the project and local traders for their forbearance while the works were undertaken.
Speaking after the ceremony Nick said: “ I’m sure everyone is delighted now that the pedestrianisation has been completed. It was great to see so many people sitting in the sun outside local businesses enjoying the street café atmosphere.”
