Local AM Pays Tribute to Town Burgess

Local Assembly Member for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay, has paid tribute to the late Victor Barrett who sadly passed away earlier this month.

Vic was a true stalwart of the Conservative Party, having been a highly regarded Treasurer of Monmouth Conservative Association for a number of years as well as a long-standing Abergavenny Town Councillor, Mayor of Abergavenny and also one of the few people bestowed with the honour of being a Burgess of the town.

Speaking today Nick said: “ I was very sad to hear of Vic’s passing. It would be difficult to find a more loyal supporter of the Party who gave so freely of his time and voluntary service for Abergavenny. I always enjoyed meeting Vic helping out at the regular Cantref Branch lunches together with his widow Marjory. Vic was President of his local branch and will be sorely missed.”
