Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay is supporting the plans for a new Hotel and Spa on the Wye at Monmouth, with news that the application will be finally determined by Public Inquiry.
The Project Team, Monmouthshire County Council and Natural Resources Wales have all expressed disappointment that a Public Inquiry rather than a Hearing procedure has been notified despite overwhelming support for the new hotel and spa during the fourteen month consultation process. All those involved with the project are working to resolve any remaining flood modelling related matters before the Inquiry begins, as the proposed hotel site is located within in a flood zone.
Speaking today Nick said: “This is an exciting project for Monmouth which I am keen to support.
“If approved, the new hotel and spa will provide significant employment, tourism and site regeneration opportunities for Monmouth and the County.
“I hope that any remaining flood risk issues can be fully addressed so that the application will be positively determined following the Public Inquiry.”
