Local AM Urges Constituents to Stay Calm and Follow Government Advice

Tuesday, 17 March, 2020

Local Assembly Member for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay, is urging constituents to remain calm and to follow all the relevant advice from both the UK and Welsh Governments regarding the rapidly evolving coronavirus situation.

In recent days Nick has understandably received many calls and emails from constituents, especially those in the local business community, seeking advice on their position both financially and as regards safeguarding members of the community.

Speaking today Nick said: “I would like to reassure everyone that I am very aware of their concerns in these unprecedented times. I would urge everyone to follow advice from Government and to keep in touch with news broadcasts regularly. It seems clear that guidance and instructions are likely to continue to change rapidly.

“I will be doing all I can at the Assembly to ensure that local businesses receive all possible support as I fully appreciate the very difficult position they find themselves in though no fault of their own.

" We will all need to make a concerted effort to work together to protect each other in the weeks ahead. My main concern is that we do all we can to keep people as safe as possible.”
