Local Assembly Member for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay, has welcomed news from Welsh Water that Monmouth’s Mayhill water treatment works are now fully operational and once again supplying clean, fresh drinking water to customers.
The water works had been put out of action following the flooding in Monmouth last week, and Welsh Water’s staff have been working round the clock to complete repairs and provide bottled water to local customers.
Speaking today Nick said: “I was very pleased to receive news that Welsh water have managed to restore a normal supply to customers, and would like to thank all involved for dealing with the crisis so smoothly, and working hard to get customers’ water supply running again as quickly as possible.
“ I am told that some water tankers will be kept in the area for a short time just as a precaution. But hopefully they will not be needed.”
