Local Member of the Welsh Parliament for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay, was delighted to hear that two Monmouthshire restaurants have retained their coveted Michelin star awards in the 2021 Michelin Guide.
Both the Walnut Tree Inn near Abergavenny and The Whitebrook near Monmouth have retained their one star after what has been an extremely challenging year with restaurants across the whole of Wales having to remain closed for months.
Speaking today Nick said: “ I’m delighted that these two prestigious restaurants in the constituency have been recognised once again for their excellent food and service. It’s amazing that Monmouthshire has two of the five restaurants winning Michelin one star awards in Wales, and goes to show that Monmouthshire remains firmly on the map as a well-deserved foodie destination.
“ Let’s hope it won’t be too long before all our local restaurants and hospitality venues can reopen so that we can all enjoy a meal out with friends and family once again whether in our local pub, restaurant or hotel.”
