Local Senedd Member for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay, was delighted to receive news that the Stagecoach X7 and X14 bus services between Chepstow and Bristol have been saved following work carried out between Monmouthshire County Council and Welsh Government.
Nick had been contacted by a number of constituents who particularly relied on the Stagecoach X7 and X14 services for commuting to work from Chepstow to Bristol, but which were due to have been suspended from this week.
Nick contacted Monmouthshire County Council and wrote to the Welsh Government’s Transport Minister expressing his concerns for Chepstow constituents who relied on the bus services to travel to Bristol to work.
Speaking today Nick said: “ I was very pleased that a solution has been found so that the bus services between Chepstow and Bristol will continue for commuters from today.
“I am informed that the new timetable will run for a six month trial period and will have a pre-booking app where seats can be booked in advance to help with social distancing alongside payment on the vehicle.
“ The service will be operated by New Adventure Travel and will be called X7 Traws Hafryn. I hope that Monmouthshire County Council will be able to continue to work with Welsh Government during the six month trial, with the aim of finding a long term solution to the service.”
