Member of the Welsh Parliament for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay, dropped in on Stephen’s Bookshop in Monmouth’s town centre on Saturday. Nick was supporting Bookshop Day which was launched in 2013 as an annual event when many bookshops around the country hold special events for customers who want to see bookshops on our high streets survive and thrive in very competitive times.
Following his visit Nick said: “I always enjoy browsing in Stephen’s Bookshop in Monmouth, and this time purchased a small gift for my son to help celebrate Bookshop Day.
“ It was good to help support local business in Monmouth, even in a small way, and especially in these exceptionally difficult times for our small businesses. I hope we will always be able to enjoy browsing in our local bookshops, but we all need to support them if they are to survive.”
