Assembly Member for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay, visited the Persimmon Homes housing development at Mardy earlier today to see for himself the problems being caused to local residents and motorists having to deal with mud and run-off on the adjoining highway.
Nick was joined by local County Councillor Malcolm Lane and local resident Mr Lewis whose home has been seriously affected by the water and mud running of the site.
Speaking today Nick said: “ I’m very concerned about the problems with mud on the road and the dangers to passing traffic.
“ I feel the access to the site is clearly inappropriate, and understand the original access couldn’t be used due to certain issues.
“The current access is on a bend with poor visibility, dangerous for traffic, pedestrians and users of Ty Gwyn.
“I will be contacting Monmouthshire County Council’s highways and planning departments with my concerns. These issues need to be addressed as a matter of urgency”
